Clay Burckhalter joined Connor & Connor, LLC as an attorney with the firm in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, he served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Augusta Judicial Circuit. During his time at the District Attorney's office, Clay tried numerous jury trials, including several murders, to successful verdicts. Before joining the District Attorney's office, Clay served as a Judicial Staff Attorney to Chief Judge Carl C. Brown Jr. and Judge John Flythe of the Superior Court of the Augusta Judicial Circuit.
Clay graduated from Augusta University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Business Administration. Clay received his juris doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the law school's Mock Trial team. Prior to obtaining his law degree, Clay spent more than a decade working in the investment, banking, and insurance industries.
Clay is a native of Augusta, GA, and resides locally with his wife Katie and their 3 rescue dogs. Clay enjoys anything that involves being outdoors including hunting, fishing, and golfing or just spending time with family and friends.
